Class Description:
Finding inspiration in a 15th century limp vellum binding where the cover was formed into a wallet, Clara Gevaert slowly began to develop her Envelope Binding structure. This simple, yet rather elegant structure requires very little adhesive and each cover is folded out of a single sheet of handmade paper. The book opens relatively flat and is suitable for lightweight text blocks.
Students should purchase 4 sheets of paper from the Morgan Conservatory. These sheets will be used for the covers, so Erin suggests purchasing 4 of the same color or 2 sets of matching colors. Here’s the link for the recommended paper:

Class Kits: Class materials kits will be sent by the instructor, but each student will be responsible for ordering their full sheets of paper.
